Research Themes
Mass Spectrometry research taking place at Leeds covers a broad area of topics. These are highlighted below with links to find more information about the research labs and contact details for the experts in charge of running each of the Facilities.
Biomolecular and Structural MS
A state-of-the-art Facility for investigating the size, shape and structure of proteins and their complexes with a range of biologically relevant molecules. We use non-covalent MS, IMS-MS, HDX, photochemical oxidation and cross linking amongst other techniques.
Proteomics
Providing LC-MS/MS-based approaches and label-free quantification for clinical proteomics applications.
Lipidomics and Metabolomics
Understanding how lipid and metabolite complements of biological systems contribute to disease aetiology and how that can be exploited in rational drug design.
Chemical Analysis
Providing service and open-access for accurate mass measurements (to within 5 ppm) of small molecules and biological analytes using a range of ionisation sources.
Food Science
Molecular characterisation of food stuffs
